
Don Crawford
Founder and CEO
Previously, Don directed a $100 million cardiovascular business in Asia for Guidant. His career started with Medtronic and has included early stage companies such as DVI, Ventritex, and WebMD. Don received a bachelor of Chemical Engineering (BChE) from Georgia Tech and an M.B.A. from Emory University.

Rod Raabe, M.D.
Founder and Chief Medical Officer Rod is a member of Inland Imaging® Inc., an 82-physician group with over 600 employees and annual revenues exceeding $150 million. He has over 20 years of conducting medical research and has participated in several NIH-sponsored and other industry initiated clinical trials. Dr. Raabe is the inventor of a number of medical devices and has two patent applications pending.

Harry Phillips
VP, Administration
Harry brings broad experience in business planning, finance, and corporate communications to Sapheon. Previously with leveraged buyout fund Heartland Industrial Partners, he played a key role in 20 transactions through which $9.5 billion in financing was raised to create a portfolio of companies whose aggregate annual sales exceeded $10 billion. His corporate management experience includes financial analysis, strategic planning, budgeting, marketing and corporate communications. He has a J.D. from Pace University School of Law and a B.A. from Harvard University.

Bruce Choi
VP, Operations
With over 14 years of industry experience, Bruce brings extensive knowledge in manufacturing logistics, reliability engineering, product development, and quality systems for medical devices. He has helped develop vascular access tools, catheters, leads, and active implantables at both mature and startup companies. Bruce has a B.S. in Material Science from Cornell University and a M.S. in Bioengineering from Cal Poly.

Gary McCord
VP, New Business Development
Gary brings over 22 years of sales, marketing, and management experience in the medical device industry. Previously, Gary was Director of Coronary Franchise for Cardiovascular Systems Inc. His career started with Schnieder (Pfizer) and has included numerous early stage companies such as Pilot Cardiovascular Systems, Heart Technologies, Ventritex, Interventional Technologies, X-Technologies, and Fox Hollow. Gary has a BA in Communications from the University of Missouri, Columbia.

Monte A. Madsen, RDMS, RVT, RPhS
VP, Clinical
Monte Madsen was the Vascular Services Manager for Inland Imaging® Inc. for 23 years and has been involved in the forefront of venous diagnosis and treatment for over two decades. He is well respected in the area of vascular ultrasound and lectures regularly throughout the United States and Internationally. Monte has conducted training and education in venous disease diagnosis and treatment for over 10 years. Monte has authored a text reference on venous disease and treatment. Monte has one design patent pending. Monte attended the University of Wyoming; his specialty training was completed at University of Utah Medical Center.

Kristine Canavan
VP, Regulatory and Quality Assurance
Kristine brings over 12 years of product development and regulatory experience to Sapheon. She was previously with Dune Medical Devices where she defined and managed regulatory, quality and clinical strategies for medical devices in the U.S., Europe and Israel. Kristine has managed several clinical trials and regulatory strategies for products used in breast surgery, wound care, soft tissue repair, dental, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and cardio/endovascular surgeries. Kristine has a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a M.P.H from Boston University.

Nick Leb
VP, Finance
Nick brings over 25 years of experience as a proven financial executive with wide-ranging and successful experience in accounting, finance, treasury and investor relations operating in both publicly traded and privately held corporations. He is a strategic, results-focused Financial Executive with "Big 4" public accounting, corporate finance and general management experience in startup and mature business environments. Nick previously held positions as the CFO for KBI Biopharma; VP, Finance for Accentia Biopharmaceuticals; CFO for TEAMM Pharmaceuticals (where he was a founder); Global Surgical Corporation and Controller for KV Pharmaceuticals. He gained his public accounting experience with Ernst & Young. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri, Columbia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Public Administration and completed a concentrated study in post-graduate accounting at the University of Missouri, St. Louis.
